VolunteerJoin the growing number of Teton Valley community members that are VIPS: Volunteers in Public Schools. This program aims to increase community involvement in our schools while ensuring our students achieve academic success. TVEF is always interested in matching people interested in helping our schools with needs within the schools. 

Volunteer opportunities are available in many different areas. Whether you want to work one-on-one with a student or prefer behind the scenes work in the school office or library, we have a position for you. 

To join the VIPS program, you need to:

  • Submit an application
  • Have a state background check (legally required, unless you already have one that is within the past 5 years)
  • Indicate an interest in a specific volunteer position - see below

Volunteer Positions

Literacy Tutor - Work one-on-one or in small groups (2-4) with elementary students to help them develop or improve reading skills.
Math Tutor - Work one-on-one or in small groups (2-4) with elementary students to help them develop or improve math skills.
Office Assistant - Assist School Secretary and teachers with necessary copying, filing, and general office work.
Playground Monitor - Assists Teachers and other staff in supervising the playground during recesses and before or after school.
Lunchroom Monitor - Assist in supervising students during the lunch hour.
Classroom Assistant - Assist in the classroom at the direction of the teacher. Schedule varies.
Enrichment Assistant - Provides enrichment activities in the areas of science, art, music, physical activities & literature.
PR Specialist - Works with the Executive Director & Board to prepare pieces about TVEF for the media.
