TVEF was founded and incorporated as a 501c(3) in 2005 by a group of concerned citizens, including its founder, Lori Kramer, to explore how the community could help support, foster and promote exceptional public schools in Teton Valley, Idaho. Since then, the organization has grown in budget, programs and involved citizens, responding quickly to emerging needs throughout Teton School District #401. This growth prompted the TVEF Board to move beyond a 100% volunteer organization by hiring its first paid Executive Director in 2010. Throughout its history, TVEF has worked very closely with the school district to align Foundation projects with the TSD#401 Strategic plan. This partnership is key to the organization's success. With an office in a school building, the Foundation is able to stay deeply connected to the entire school community.
Since its inception the TVEF has awarded over $125,000 dollars to the teachers, students and schools in the Teton School District #401. Every day our donors affect the lives of over 1,600 students and 200 educators working to fulfill their greatest potential. For more information about our work, see Programs and Grants.
